The Role:
As a Research Analyst, you’ll join a newly formed team focused on delivering tailored commercial analysis to support project financing and transactions within the global power and renewables markets. The team's key responsibility will be to develop a comprehensive suite of transaction and valuation support solutions, building on our existing subscription services and providing clients with customised commercial due diligence.
The research analyst is expected to collaborate with our research groups to enhance models and data, contributing to developing bespoke offerings. Once the team is fully established, analyst responsibility will shift to managing and delivering these specialized projects. The role requires working closely with the project manager to ensure that each project is planned and executed to the highest quality, on time, and within budget.
Requirements:

Qualification/Experience:
Strong knowledge and experience in power and renewables markets, with a particular understanding of power plant technologies, operations, and economics.
Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation techniques, and can effectively apply these to power and renewable assets to support advisory work on transactions and valuations within the sector
Work experience of 2-4 years with any - developer, consultancy/research provider, private equity, financial institutions, or another market/investment-focused organization
Exceptional analytical/quantitative skills, including experience in modelling or commercial analysis in power markets.
Comfortable working with large datasets, databases, and APIs, and familiar with tools like Python, SQL, and Power Query to handle and analyze data
Knowledge & Skills:
Proficiency in financial metrics and valuation techniques such as ROI, IRR, NPV, and multiples analysis.
Understanding of the M&A process, including due diligence, deal structuring, integration planning, and negotiation
Understanding of market trends, regulatory issues, and key drivers in power sector
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Fluency in additional European languages is an advantage
