The Director of Strategic Finance plays a key, hands-on role to coordinate budgeting and forecasting exercises for the company, analyze results and performance against budget, and perform ad hoc analyses. The focus of the role will be on budgeting, forecasting and generating ad-hoc analytics for the company’s integrated Credit and Insurance platforms. The role will also oversee analyzing strategic organic and M&A transactions and other special projects, including new fund/strategies launch, Originations, and their financial impact to the firm. This person manages a team to develop presentations for senior management on a monthly basis. This is a highly visible role and requires frequent interaction with the business heads, portfolio managers, and the senior executive team including Business Finance CFOs and COOs.
Primary Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate with business-level CFOs, COOs, Business Leads, senior management, and other stakeholders to define business reporting and analytics requirements and oversee execution of deliverables.
Coordinate the annual budget process, interim forecast updates, and long-term plan.
Oversee analysis of strategic transactions and projects, interfacing with professionals across the organization.
Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly management reports and other analytics.
Produce high quality, timely and insightful information to help senior management manage the firm and set direction. Respond in a timely manner to all ad hoc questions and requests for information. Become a one stop, widely recognized source for high quality management information for various departments.
Analyze variances, trends, risks and opportunities, performance against budget/forecast/targets, key business drivers and sensitivities.
Oversee the preparation of presentations and key analyses for Senior Management.
Perform special projects and other duties as required by the needs of the business.
Develop and improve the financial reporting and business analysis framework; enhance reporting techniques and tools and work with Technology to automate reporting processes.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of experience with at least 5 years of experience at a Financial Institution
CFA or CPA preferred
MBA is not required but a plus
Strong technical accounting (GAAP) skills with credit and capital markets experience
Operates with high energy; successful “up-and-comer” with endless passion and drive
Has a record of confident leadership, sound judgment and creative solutions
Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence senior level stakeholders
Excellent communication skills and organizational savvy with experience managing teams
Ability to train and lead high performing talent
Analysis requires high level of cognitive and financial reasoning capabilities
Strong Excel skills

Pay Range
$190,000 – $250,000Apollo Global Management, Inc. (together with its subsidiaries and affiliates) is committed to championing opportunity.

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
