Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of trade compliance systems (including Annex 24) and develop the necessary policies and procedures.
• Manage all aspects of import and export compliance under IMMEX Program, PROSEC Program, VAT Bond and VAT Certification, including recordkeeping requirements.
• Oversee customs broker management, ensuring accurate and timely processing of pedimentos and payments.
• Supervise the preparation of monthly IMMEX reports and ensure compliance with Annex 24 and Annex 30.
• Monitor regulatory changes in Mexican customs law, providing updates and guidance to internal teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and operations, to ensure trade compliance requirements are met.
• Prepare for audits from Mexican authorities, ensuring all records, documentation, and filings are compliant.
• Assist in the integration of the company’s ERP system with the Annex 24 inventory control system to ensure seamless data flow.
• Manage all customs transactions, ensuring the correct classification, valuation, and documentation of imports and exports.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of shipments and proper management of pedimentos.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of customs documentation for imported and exported goods, ensuring compliance with Mexican customs requirements.
• Ensure compliance with import duties and taxes, including VAT on temporary imports under IMMEX Program and VAT Bond / Certification.
• Support the Trade Compliance Director in executing strategies to optimize customs processes and reduce costs.
• Monitor customs broker performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure efficient customs operations.
• Provide training and guidance to the logistics team on customs regulations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in trade compliance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing IMMEX and PROSEC Programs and VAT Bond / Certification in Mexico.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of IMMEX Program, PROSEC Program, VAT Bond, VAT Certification, Annex 24, Annex 30, and Mexican customs regulations.
• Strong experience in preferential trade agreements and duty reduction mechanisms (such as PROSEC Program).
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills for interacting with US-based teams.
• Proficient in trade management software (such as SAP GTS) and ERP integration.

Preferred:

• Previous experience setting up trade compliance systems for new operations in Mexico.
• Experience in industries with high-volume imports and temporary imports under IMMEX Program.
