The Project

The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.

The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.

  • Ensure project delivery aligns with cost, time, and resource targets while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Lead client and contractor meetings, stepping in for the Project Manager when required.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to resolve design challenges and identify value-engineering opportunities.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining 3-6 month project look-aheads.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors and superintendents to ensure seamless project coordination.
  • Oversee contracts and commercial responsibilities, including cost forecasting and budget control.
  • Proactively develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering professional growth.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across teams, including structures, traffic, and utilities.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, environmental compliance, and safety across the project.
  • Work across various civil packages, including roads, RSS walls, drainage, pavements, earthworks, and temporary works.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Extensive onsite experience managing civil works as outlined above.
  • Strong ability to develop and manage master programs, contracts, and cost forecasts.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
