We are seeking a Sr. Engineer to join our Power Electronics Test and Validation team. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic and a passion for excellence. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge power electronics systems and play a key role in defining and executing test plans, analyzing system performance, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation in electric vehicle technology. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to the future of automotive power electronics.

You Will:

  • Develop and execute Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) for battery management system hardware
  • Serve as the test engineering lead throughout project implementation, ensuring alignment with department management and the project manager
  • Define all electrical functional test cases and specifications for PCBA and link them to system requirements
  • Utilize Vector CANalyzer and CANoe to analyze, debug, and validate communication between power electronics components
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations for power electronics systems, collaborating with design, firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.

 You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in testing and validation of BMS, DC-DC converters, or other high-voltage power electronics
  • Highly organized professional with the ability to maintain project schedules and track status to ensure timely completion and efficiency
  • Experience in the definition of validation strategies across various integration level
  • The capability to scientifically analysis verification results and define R&D activities
  • Good Hands-on experience for hardware test and validation
  • Familiar with various equipment (Oscilloscope, probe, multimeter, hi-pot tester, etc.)

Advantageous:

  • PhD in EE with 3-year experience
  • Knowledge of automotive standards ( ISO 19453, ISO 21498, LV124, GMW 3172, etc.)
  • Proficiency in ISO SPI, Automotive Ethernet, CAN FD, and LIN communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of battery management algorithms, SOC/SOH estimation, cell balancing, and fault detection.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$140,000$192,500 USD
