ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE                                                 

As a Manufacturing Manager at Ample, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Vehicle Integration Production Team and be responsible for leading, growing and motivating our manufacturing and assembly technicians. We will count on you to ensure optimal manufacturing performance by implementing smart and efficient new processes as we continue to scale. You will collaborate closely with supply chain, engineering and inventory teams to improve our product and resolve any organizational challenges.        

                       

WHAT YOU鈥橪L DO:                                                                 

  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate and support a team of assembly and manufacturing technicians to meet ambitious short-term and long term goals. Provide guidance, lead trainings and give feedback to team members
    • Ensure technicians are following standardized work procedures
    • Prioritize workload to achieve production goals
  • Proactively Resolve Production Challenges: Anticipate and resolve build roadblocks to ensure a smooth and fast production process by working with the supply chain, quality and engineering teams as needed. Support resource, space and manufacturing strategy planning.
  • Issue Resolution: Report vendor quality issues and work with supply chain and quality teams to resolve. Communicate any build delays to the program management team; track and resolve causes for delays.
  • Product Expertise: Operate as technical leader for the production team; develop a deep understanding of each subassembly and build procedure.
    • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams to improve product and process from a DFM standpoint to enable production scale.
    • Create documentation, as needed, to support proper standardized work procedures
  • Manufacturing Process Improvement: Champion the evolution of the manufacturing process to improve on efficiency, quality and throughput. Collaborate cross functionally to keep flow of material smooth and assembly area organized, apply continuous improvement mindset to all areas of your job.

 

WHAT YOU鈥橪L BRING:                        

  • 5+ years in a production/manufacturing environment with experience in leading teams to hit challenging milestones
  • Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills, familiarity with drawings and cad models
  • A self-starter approach to removing roadblocks for your team and enabling them to learn how to unblock themselves
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use MS Office: Excel, Project, Word
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new
