<h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">About the role</span></h1><p>Muon seeks a Software Test Manager  to join our satellite development team in Mountain View, CA to test the software that runs our orbiting satellites. The ideal candidate is a capable people manager and has experience with the testing of embedded hardware/software systems. Previous experience working on interdisciplinary projects is a strong asset, such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, avionics, or aerospace.</p><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Responsibilities</span></h1><ul><li>Lead a team of test software engineers in developing comprehensive test suites to validate the integrated satellite systems</li><li>Recruit and plan for an organization that will scale to meet the demands of the business as it grows</li><li>Be the driving force behind having a technically excellent team by mentoring team members and setting high standards</li><li>Work with discipline engineers to devise tests (verification and validation) that prove or disprove our assumptions and models</li><li>Work with with avionics and software engineers to identify problems and lead investigations into anomalous vehicle behavior</li><li>Create an inclusive, collaborative, and team-oriented culture that fosters high productivity and opportunities for growth</li><li>Identify and implement processes, tools, and infrastructure that help accelerate our design and development effort</li><li>Excitement to tackle diverse opportunities week to week</li></ul><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Qualifications</span></h1><ul><li>2+ years direct management experience of 3+ people</li><li>5+ years experience on high performing software teams</li><li>2+ years of professional experience managing complex technical projects and developing and tracking schedules</li><li>Significant current/previous hands-on technical work on an interdisciplinary project (such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, avionics, or aerospace)</li><li>Equivalent experience or B.S. in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, aerospace, or related field</li></ul><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Nice-to-have Skills</span></h1><ul><li>Experience with test automation, particularly using Python</li><li>Previous experience delivering a hardware system or subsystem through the engineering lifecycle - from requirements through build and deployment</li><li>Experience building hardware-in-the-loop testbeds, particularly for aviation or space</li><li>Experience with make/buy decisions</li><li>Track record of scrappiness and getting it done</li><li>Implementation of Continuous integration / continuous deployment systems, especially for hardware</li><li>Experience writing test plans, procedures, and providing operational support to cross-functional teams</li><li>Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and team focus with extensive multi-tasking and organizational experience</li></ul><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Salary</span></h1><ul><li>The salary range for this role is $163K - $228K and will depend on a candidate's skills geographic location, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.</li></ul><div><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">About Muon Space</span></h1><p><span style="font-size:12pt;">Founded in 2021, Muon Space is an end-to-end Space Systems Provider that designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations delivering mission-critical data.
