Founded in 2016, Revamp is the premier engineering design firm focused on large-scale renewable energy projects. We are committed to doing our part in the energy transition and providing a welcoming workplace for talented people ready to make a real difference in fighting climate change. We deliver industry-defining renewable energy solutions that span from development to energization. Since 2020, Revamp engineers have designed more than 10% of all solar generation capacity installed in the US. In total, Revamp has designed 15+ Gigawatts for construction. That’s roughly 3 million homes worth of generation.

The Revamp team is a diverse group of primarily remote, US-based employees from the East Coast to The Aloha State of Hawaii! We are artists, immigrants, singers, dancers, pastry chefs, outdoor enthusiasts, animal lovers, and travelers who embrace innovation and collaboration.

Intern Program Overview

  • The twelve-week full-time summer program is performed either fully remotely or in-office if local. The schedule will be adjusted to accommodate the student’s summer vacation.
  • A part-time or coop arrangement may be possible during the Spring/Fall 2024 academic terms.
  • Interns will individually work under the direction of their managers.
  • Hourly-based, paid internship, approximately 40 hours per week during the summer.
  • At the completion of the program, the intern may be evaluated and considered for possible future full-time employment upon graduation.

Internship Description:

  • Grow in knowledge of equipment and electrical requirements for stepping up a medium-voltage solar and BESS power plant to a high-voltage point of interconnection for various utilities across the United States.
  • Work directly with senior management in substation design to optimize the electrical protection scheme templates and tools.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Excel to produce electrical drawings for interconnection applications.
  • From knowledge acquired during the internship, create and improve useful instructional documentation for high-voltage electrical design.
  • Implement and test training plans and tools to streamline departmental resources.
  • Enhance automation in substation electrical design using Substation Design Suite, SQL, Python, Visual Basic (Excel Macros), or other programming languages.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.
  • Work under the direction of full-time staff.
  • Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
