Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Resident Engineer for immediate employment in San Diego, CA.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the project lead in the field, overseeing the construction management staff on rail-related projects.
- Ensure successful delivery of the project and implementation of project plans and specifications.
- Act as the main point of contact for the client, maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including Metrolink, UPRR, SANDAG, BNSF, NCTD, SBCTA, and LA Metro, to ensure project compliance with their respective standards and requirements.
- Manage and mentor the project team, assigning tasks, and providing guidance to ensure efficient project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and meeting minutes.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate project risks and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as railroad-specific safety standards.
- Manage project budget and schedule, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Facilitate effective communication between the design team, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction management processes and best practices within the organization.
