Job Description
AECOM is seeking a California Traffic Engineering State Manager to be based in Orange, Oakland, and Los Angeles, California.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects.
- Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling.
- Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.
- Leads technical business development work.
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Approves and signs off on work.
- Leader in one or more areas of technology.
- Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule a to meet requirements on large, complex projects.
- Manage the traffic engineering staff on a daily basis throughout California
- Lead traffic engineering projects and traffic design tasks throughout California
- Lead marketing and proposal efforts for traffic engineering projects.
- Be responsible for plan approvals for Caltrans and other major agencies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers, clients, regulatory agency staff, AECOM staff, and the public in meetings and at public events as well as write concise and readable technical reports and documents
- Supporting a wide range of traffic engineering projects for roadway, freeway, transit systems, managed lanes, bicycle and pedestrian facilities
- Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered, apply innovative design solution, implementing current technology to meet project design needs
- Provides guidance, mentor and coach to engineers, or technicians, to learn and improve their technical skills
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and preferable Project) Skilled in MicroStation and AutoCAD software
