POSITION SUMMARY:


The Arizona Boardwalk is seeking an experienced registered architect to join our work in developing AZ Boardwalk and out-of-state endeavors. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, diligent professional with a strong work ethic, capable of thriving independently and within a collaborative team. We are looking for a highly skilled and licensed registered architect who brings creative thinking, a passion for teamwork, and positive energy to the project experience. The candidate must have the authority to stamp architectural drawings in the state of Arizona.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Prepare and stamp architectural drawings and documents in compliance with state regulations.
  • Lead design and development processes for various commercial real estate projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party companies, engineers, and contractors to develop project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee all phases of the design from concept to construction, including permit applications, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluations to assess project progress, quality of work, and adherence to specifications.
  • Provide expert advice on design considerations, materials, building codes, and construction techniques.
  • Facilitate meetings with partners, developers, and other stakeholders to present design concepts, plans, and project updates.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in architectural practices.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, proposals, and presentations.

Requirements

PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to operate a computer and keyboard.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, or crawl.
  • No impairment of sight, smell, hearing, touch, balance, and agility of movement which might interfere with the ability to work.
  • Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly.
  • Allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with the ability to work, must be controlled by medications or protective equipment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, as well as walk.
  • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Ability to work in an environment that may be loud at times.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Must be a Registered Architect with the authority to stamp architectural drawings in the state of Arizona.
  • Minimum of 5 years of architectural experience in commercial real estate, new development, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of Arizona's building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Proven track record of successful project management from concept through completion.
  • Exceptional design and visualization skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
  • Experience in the family attraction and entertainment space is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Experience representing clients in commercial real estate and new development projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and green building standards.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience representing clients in commercial real estate and new development projects.
  • Familiarity with the family attraction and entertainment industry is a plus but not required.
