The Commercial Project Manager (CPM) is responsible for supporting commercial projects assigned to them by performing project due diligence, facilitating internal communication to establish and meet project milestones, maintain clear expectations with the customer and contributing to process improvements.
· Project Coordination- Lead internal meetings with various Tiger Solar departments to coordinate the technical review process. Maintain a running list of tasks that are critical to the projects success and monitoring the completion of those tasks with a clear understanding of how they effect the projects schedule. Any changes to the project schedule will be clearly and promptly be relayed to the rest of the team.
· Customer Communication- Keeping our customers informed of their project status is key to a projects success. The Commercial Salesperson will introduce the CPM shortly after a contract is signed and it will be the CPM’s responsibility to communicate pre construction visits as well as the construction timeline and completion date.
· Construction- Working with the Commercial Director and Director of Construction, create and maintain a GANT chart to establish labor needs associated with each project they are managing. Any changes to this schedule will be conveyed to the Directors promptly.
· Project Cost Tracking- Working with the Procurement and Accounting departments, keep an up-to-date tracker of projected and incurred jobs costs.
· Job Knowledge- Understand energy industry technology (Inverters, modules, mounting systems/racking, balance of systems, etc..). Understand building code and stay current on changes to solar building and electric code. The ability to read construction drawings and interface with engineers, architects and other trades is required. Stay current on OSHA and other safety requirements. Stay current on interconnection requirements by the various utilities involved with our projects.
· Everything Speaks- Dress in a professional manor fitting for the client they will be interfacing with. Ensure that all correspondence and other documents shared with the customer maintain a high level of professionalism in both quality and appearance.
· Coordination of Sub-contractors- Acquire bids and select subcontractors for portions of the construction not performed in house. Convey job specifications, compare bids for technical accuracy and coordinate construction schedules of subcontractors to ensure a smooth workflow.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field is preferred.
· Previous experience and knowledge of project management, especially solar. Ability to read & interpret electrical and mechanical drawings required
· Relationship and team builder that displays an awesome, “can-do” attitude and excellent customer services skills. Clear understanding and ability to enthusiastically promote safe workplace practices and procedure
· Patient, professional, and adaptable to a wide range of people and backgrounds. Ability to communicate with peers, supervisor, and all other external individuals both effectively and respectfully
· Strong attention to detail and comfortable with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment (we believe “everything speaks”)
· Exceptional oral and written communication, presentation skills and demonstrated ability to effectively engage a variety of diverse people, both internally and externally.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams and Sharepoint.
· Passionate about renewable energy and providing best-in-class customer service support.
· Able to learn new technologies, quickly becoming the expert of a rapidly evolving set of technology needs
· Criminal/civil background check, and motor vehicle records search will be required in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. A valid driving license and good driving record is required.
