Job Description
We are seeking an experienced
Business Development Lead to drive sales growth with medium to large energy consumers in South Africa. This role focuses on delivering a consistent and scalable pipeline of energy supply agreements for customers with Notified Maximum Demands (NMD) ranging from
1–50MW. You will be responsible for identifying and developing high-priority customer segments, engaging with qualified leads, responding to RFPs, and executing complex
sales opportunities.

- Develop business plans and strategies for customer energy solutions, ensuring alignment with market trends, regulatory changes, and Eskom tariffs
- Lead the sales process by identifying customer needs, engaging decision-makers, and negotiating Energy Supply Agreements (ESAs), wheeling arrangements, and other contracts
- Present compelling value propositions to demonstrate the benefits of energy aggregation and trading solutions
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, regulatory bodies (Eskom, NERSA), and key industry partners
- Advocate for policy changes and represent the company at industry forums, municipal energy conferences, and public-sector engagements
- Collaborate internally with the product, legal, and trading teams to ensure solutions are competitive, compliant, and meet customer needs
- Track sales performance, customer acquisition metrics, and contract execution rates, providing senior management with insights on demand trends and new opportunities
- Leverage data analytics to optimise sales strategies and energy solutions for medium and small customers
- Stay informed about global and regional best practices to continuously improve and innovate the companyâs energy offerings
