AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Civil Engineer IV to join our Environmental Business Line in the East Region, working on rewarding projects within a diverse culture, and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

You will work with a diverse team of technical experts to deliver remediation services to our clients in the Power sector market and have the ability to work across business lines (e.g. Transportation) to support AECOM’s growing business.  In this role, you will support the design of various solid waste disposal facilities, earthen dams, bridges, retaining walls, roadways, and other geotechnical, civil, and remediation projects.

The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:

  • Performing geotechnical investigations including slope stability analyses and settlement analyses
  • Developing geotechnical recommendations for large civil and geotechnical projects.
  • Documentation and use of industry standard computer software for the position
  • Utilizing resources including Slope/W, SLIDE, AutoCAD Civil 3D, APile, LPile, GRLWEAP, Settle3
  • Responsible for training and leading junior level engineers and scientists in the completion of a variety of geotechnical projects
  • Investigating dams or impoundments
  • Site review and assessments specific to Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
  • Training junior staff and providing guidance on landfill design
  • Acting as a point of expertise in projects with NCDOT
