Senior Civil Engineer

AECOM is seeking out a well-qualified and motivated Senior Civil Engineer with a background in highway and roadway design for a great role in our Tucson, Arizona office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Senior technical resource which will serve as technical advisor for team.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
• Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects.
• Perform detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.
• Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
• Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and contribute to the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager
• Oversee the work of less experienced designers.
• Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met.
