THE ROLE

**Preferred US locations are within PST and MST to communicate effectively with other global offices in Australia and UK/Europe.

We have a world class platform for e-mobility and are looking for a Software Engineering Leader to build an industry-leading suite of software applications for our riders, customers, and internal operations teams.

Your mission, should you choose to accept, will be to build and grow the Software Engineering team and deliver amazing product experiences in concert with our incredible hardware and operations teams.

In this role, you will:

• Grow the Zoomo software engineering team by attracting and hiring world class software engineers and technical professionals.
• Manage and coach the team to achieve amazing outcomes by delivering software that our end users, enterprise customers and internal teams love.
• Drive the improvement of our software engineering practices and technical architecture to deliver a resilient service that is an integral part of our world-class product line of e-bikes.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineering, product management, and design to make sure we can run at speed towards a common goal.
• Work with hardware engineering leadership to create Zoomo’s overall technology strategy that encompasses ways of working, remote working, team composition, technology choices, and delivery methodology.
• Partner closely with our operations team to assure that our software allows us to deliver amazing service and scaled management of 10s of thousands of bikes.
• Use your passion for experimenting with new tech and new dev practices to inspire a culture of challenge and innovation

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering management experience with a demonstrated track record of leading high performance software teams shipping web and mobile applications (including managing engineering managers).
• 5+ years of hands-on, full-stack (backend and frontend) software engineering experience building on open source technology stack using agile methodologies.
• A track record of successfully building and scaling a software organisation up to 25 software developers and beyond.
• Experience in a blended environment which combines software developed in-house tightly integrated with third party SaaS applications to deliver an exceptional experience to end users, enterprise customers, and internal operations teams.
• Experience building and nurturing a culture of engineering excellence focused on shipping high quality products to enterprise customers and end users.
• Ability to define and effectively communicate a long-term technical vision and inspire the team to deliver on that vision.
• Effective and mature communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing; comfortable in business and technical discussions.
• Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative fast-growing environment.
• Bachelor or higher degree, or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.




You will go the front of the line if you have:


• Experience shipping successful products enabled by close integration across connected hardware devices and software systems.
• Experience building software applications for transportation or logistics use cases
