As the Stationary Engineer for Nature’s Fynd, you will be a key member of the Maintenance Team, responsible for keeping our assets in good condition in order to allow us to meet our customer needs.  The maintenance team will be working closely with operations and quality to ensure we work safely and making good quality product on time for our customers.  This person will report directly to the Maintenance Manager, with a dotted line to the Operations Manager/Supervisors.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing maintenance/repairs on equipment (especially utility and production equipment)
  • Documenting work completed and parts that are used in our CMMS
  • Making sure to work safely and helping to develop/execute proper safety protocols (LOTO, Confined Space Entry, etc)
  • Working closely with contractors and vendors when repairing/maintaining equipment, including reaching out for support if needed
  • Responding and supporting operations calls to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Working with the Maintenance Manager to update PMs to better maintain our assets
  • Assisting in root cause analysis activities to identify ways to prevent re-occurrences
  • Any other work related items as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must have a City of Chicago Stationary Engineering License
  • Will have a flexible work week, based on operational needs
  • Will be working on weekends and holidays (as needed)
  • Be willing to work OT as needed to support operations
  • Strong mechanical acumen to do tasks such as rebuilding/replacing pumps and valves, changing belts and bearings, etc.
  • Basic electrical skill set (such as able to use a meter and change a low voltage motor)
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Emphasis on personal transparency and accountability
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment
  • Sound judgement when faced with uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Self-motivated by problem solving and inherent curiosity to understand how things work
