Electrical Engineer - Airport Project

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer  to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.

Major Responsibilities: 

• Provides expert advice, guidance, and subject matter expertise throughout the planning, design, and execution of the program, ensuring electrical systems design and construction adhere to all relevant codes and standards.
• Ensures compliance with technical requirements through design reviews, submittal assessments, and testing of electrical systems.
• Conducts Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for proposed renovations, alterations, maintenance, and new construction projects.
• Delivers non-resident engineering expertise through field inspections at various construction stages.
• Supports the development of governance frameworks and process documentation related to electrical systems engineering practices.
• Evaluates alternative technical proposals submitted by contractors, assessing feasibility and alignment with program requirements.
• Manages technical aspects of the program, setting targets and goals for electrical systems engineering.
• Facilitates coordination between engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure seamless integration across programs, facilities, and assets.
• Reviews contractor and designer deliverables to confirm adherence to relevant codes, standards, and requirements.
• Monitors the designer’s input during construction, overseeing RFIs, shop drawings, material approvals, mock-ups, and punch lists.
• Provides management-level progress reports and briefings on electrical systems design, highlighting key developments, challenges, and opportunities.
