Job Summary

Twelve is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our Engineering Team. You will be responsible for sourcing everything from off-the-shelf products to custom engineered parts and subsystems. Component fit and quick delivery are key to meeting our development targets. In this role you will work with Twelve’s engineers to research products and suppliers, lead new vendor relationships, and plan inventory and solutions to accelerate project schedules.

This is a full time role based in Berkeley, CA.

What you’ll do

  • Work with Twelve’s Engineering team to source parts, products, materials, etc. for engineering projects.
  • Research technologies, vendors, and product solutions to expand Twelve’s engineering and R&D capabilities.
  • Come up with creative solutions to respond to part shortages and other unforeseen issues.
  • Track and maintain an inventory of standard parts for key projects.
  • Develop processes and platforms to simplify ordering, tracking orders, and maintaining a knowledge base of vendors and products.
  • Negotiate favorable deals with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
  • Forecast supplier availability, fabrication timelines, and costs and help drive key projects to completion on schedule.

Who you are

  • Experience purchasing technical products such as mechanical hardware, sensors, electronics, pumps, etc.
  • Experience expediting hardware fabrication and procurement processes.
  • Ability to understand parts and components requirements and convey those requirements to suppliers.
  • Ability to independently plan, schedule and carry out work assignments, initiate and participate in the improvement of procurement practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and research driven.
