Carbo Culture is a Finnish-American climate technology startup commercialising large-scale carbon removal. Our North Star aim is to annually remove 1 billion tons (1Gt) of CO2e from the atmosphere.
To do this, we combine nature and technology to convert biomass into a stable, functional biocarbon form that will remove carbon from the atmosphere for over 1000 years.
By 2050, the whole world will likely need to remove up to ten billion tons of carbon dioxide annually to remain below 1.5c warming, and Carbo Culture’s ambition is to be a central part of that effort.
Our technologically advanced, patented solution is ready for scaleup. We’ve proven our technology at demo scale and are now embarking on a path for rapid scaling and expansion. We are beginning to build factories which lock carbon dioxide into a stable form of biochar for thousands of years. We sell the biocarbon, CO2 removal credits and syngas generated by our pyrolysis process.
Our global team is backed by investors and partners in Europe and the US, and we’re now looking for our second in-house process engineer to help us scale-up the technology and the company.
Carbo Culture’s initial R&D site is located in Escalon California, and you’ll be expected to travel there from time to time. In addition, this role requires global travelling with the engineering team as we expand to more countries and states (Europe, US).
You have a background and demonstrated history in developing mechanical production processes, ideally in a fast-paced environment, and have worked in related fields. Experience in a production technology startup is a huge plus.
