OE/HSE Reporting Specialist – HSE Career Ladder FL 1-3 (US PSG 18-20)

About the Position

The Operational Excellence / Health, Safety, and Environment (OE/HSE) Reporting Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate enterprise and / or business unit data, delivering HSE metrics and reports for use by the business, monitoring data quality, and creating and maintaining PowerBI dashboards to facilitate enterprise and BU OE reporting. The OE/HSE Reporting Specialist reports to the OE Reporting & Digital Team Lead in Bengaluru, India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure business unit (BU) data is accurately entered and maintained in the record system and work with the subject matter experts to facilitate accurate event reporting.
  • Conduct end of month and annual reporting processes to meet enterprise and BU reporting requirements.
  • Deliver critical internal reporting processes including HSE metrics, scorecards, and provide data to support benchmarking.
  • Design solutions and deliver reports, charts, graphs, infographics and analyses iteratively, in a way that converts data into information.
  • Interpret the annual Operational Excellence Data Reporting Standard (OEDRS) requirements and ensure system records are consistent with the OEDRS.
  • Ensure data quality and construct meaningful OE dialogues at various leadership levels.
  • Manage OE data via Excel and PowerBI working with key stakeholders to improve data accuracy and implement streamlined data collection and reporting where possible.
  • Support client's strategy to improve OE Performance measures by analyzing the data available and providing reports and insights to subject matter experts across the business.
  • Manage data from multiple sources, including the validation of data accuracy and analyze the data to identify insights that will assist with decision-making.
  • Leverage strong customer engagement skills to understand needs, collect requirements, and deliver timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with functional HSE and operational teams to deliver results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills 
  • Strong communication skills and must be skilled in translating data into business terms that are digestible by HSE and Operations SMEs and leaders
  • Advanced data manipulation (Pivot Tables) and visualization (Excel/PowerBI) is required.
  • Expert in managing and analyzing data from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency in managing PowerBI dashboards, improving data integrity, and streamlining data collection and reporting.
  • Ability to follow workflows in systems and understand what is required in the systems to facilitate the data and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to understand the Operational Excellence Management System, with deep technical knowledge on personal and process safety, health, and environment, to understand facilitate reporting that is beneficial for SMEs to drive decision making.

Selection Criteria:

Technical

Managing data from multiple sources and analyzing patterns to drive decision-making. Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and visualization, as well as fundamental PowerBI skills are required. Competency to understand and use the II&R Standard and OEDRS to perform their role is essential. Additionally, the ability to manage the incident and investigation workflows in the system accurately, validate the classification of incidents using the OEDRS, is crucial.

Leadership

Understanding and adhering to OE requirements specific to the role, following procedures, and ensuring necessary safeguards are in place. Demonstrating behavior aligned with the Client's way, challenging norms, and stopping work when unsafe conditions are present are imperative. Understanding reporting requirements for incidents, near misses, and potential noncompliance are also key components.

Align & Inspire

The ability to build consensus across multiple perspectives and effective communication skills are vital. Engaging with SMEs and leaders to align on ‘what good looks like’ and drive alignment in reporting outputs and continual improvement in data visualization across business units. Demonstrated competency in II&R and OEDRS, and a thorough understanding of safeguarding terminology and OEMS improvement analysis are also important.

Deliver Results

 criteria include utilizing advanced knowledge of II&R and OEMS, demonstrating skilled knowledge of Excel, and fundamental knowledge of PowerBI for data manipulation and visualization. being an expert in the Incident management systems and the Enterprise OE Dashboard and analyzing incident datasets and various attributes to help improve OE performance are also critical. Understanding of benchmarking drivers and what it is being used for to enable accurate data.
