We are looking for a full-time Power Markets Research Analyst to join Wood Mackenzie’s Power and Renewables Modelling team, focusing on the analysis of European power markets from a short-term perspective (intraday, balancing and spot markets).
The team’s research spans power market fundamentals and price forecasting to asset valuation and strategy that comprises some of the most highly utilized data, reports, and insights across Wood Mackenzie. The team consists of detail-oriented industry experts, commercially savvy and has strong technical abilities.
In your new role you will be responsible for developing, improving and maintaining price forecasting models in various geographies in Europe. This will cover power market fundamentals, including demand, weather and renewables forecasts as well as other price drivers. Wood Mackenzie’s models incorporate thousands of data parameters and detailed market information to forecast power flows, generation and prices based on key market drivers.
The successful candidate will have interest in both, analytics and the power industry. Your experience in the field of European power markets proves you hold these characteristics and are comfortable taking complex, disparate ideas and distilling them into simple, actionable information.
