About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior GIS Consultant/Analyst to join our Geospatial Team within the Digital Environment Practice Area. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong command of the GIS software (primarily ESRI products). The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of relevant experience and will excel in coordinating GIS projects, producing high-quality maps, and leveraging spatial data analysis. Strong English proficiency is essential for effective communication and collaboration.

As a Senior GIS Consultant/Analyst within the Geospatial Team, the successful candidate will combine their existing experience and skill set with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and database management to support a wide range of exciting and diverse projects in the UK and Internationally. Projects will range in scale and complexity and include locally and nationally significant projects in sectors such as Power/Renewables, Infrastructure, and Transport.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Project Coordination: Lead and manage GIS projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

- Map Production: Design, develop, and produce high-quality maps using ESRI and Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) software for various applications.

- Spatial and non-spatial data handling, creating, and managing content in enterprise and file geodatabases, using good data management principles.

- Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on GIS and Autodesk tools, providing guidance to junior team members and stakeholders.

- Data Analysis: Conduct spatial analyses and prepare data visualizations to support project goals and decision-making processes.

- Quality Assurance: Review GIS data, maps, and related products for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and other stakeholders, to integrate GIS insights into broader project plans.

- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including reports, maps, and metadata, to ensure project transparency and continuity.

Support webGIS (ArcGIS Online) creation and maintenance to aid project team access to spatial information.

- Provide consultancy to internal and external clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.

- Working to programme and budget whilst maintaining the quality of delivery.

- Work within set GIS standards and best practice.
