Comprised of an experienced team of installers, electrical workers, engineers, and technicians, with a deep understanding of the New York City clean-energy and construction landscapes, Sunkeeper Solar is an ideal partner for any and all distributed generation projects in the NYC Metro area.Solar Lead Electrician:Responsibilities<ul><li>Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices required for commercial solar PV and ESS systems.</li><li>Ensure electrical systems meet company standard job specifications, the National Electrical Code, and other relevant local codes.</li><li>Supervise, lead, manage, and train a crew of three or more electrical installers and apprentices while providing clear directions and procedures.</li><li>Provide regular reports of team activities to management team.</li><li>Lead job safety, prepare Job Hazard Analysis, ensure proper PPE is maintained at all times</li><li>Train new employees on safety hazards</li><li>Assist in solar crew support including staging materials, general site work support, as well as site preparation and clean up</li><li>Maintain proper organization of company-provided tools and materials, ensuring that essential supplies remain in stock.</li><li>Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors on during the BEC inspections</li><li>Communicate professionally and treat clients, contractors, tradespeople, coworkers, and the public with respect and kindness.</li><li>Troubleshoot electrical issues independently</li><li>Operate various tools such a threader, core drill, conduit bender</li><li>Read and understand all Sunkeeper drawings with the ability to accurately translate such documents into physical space</li><li>Understand and teach all company policies, including company safety policy to crew</li><li>Turn in receipts on time with proper notes</li><li>Mark layouts neutrally for electrical equipment, plan and execute complex conduit runs, and lead wire pulls effectively.&nbsp;</li><li>Utilize Procore for managing daily photos, RFIs, punch lists, drawings, and inspections, while providing regular job status updates and completing necessary paperwork.</li><li>Lead the electrical installation project from start to finish while staying on schedule and maintaining labor budget and miscellaneous materials within 5% of estimated cost</li><li>Perform quality inspections on electrical equipment</li><li>Lead electrical shutdown work during off hours if needed</li><li>Utilizes good judgment in gray area situations</li><li>Drive company vehicles and trucks when needed</li><li>Maintain a clean driving record, if assigned driving duties</li><li>Maintain a valid 62-hour SST Card pursuant to Local Law 196</li><li>Maintain a Labor Utilization Rate of &gt;95%.</li><li>Actively bring new ideas about improving corporate quality, efficiency, and safety, to the persons best-positioned to implement them</li></ul>Reporting: Solar Lead Electrician will report directly to the Installation Manager.Requirements:<ul><li>Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical experience on commercial jobsites</li><li>Minimum 3 years of leadership experience</li><li>Ability to travel to job sites within the NYC metropolitan area.</li><li>Able to read electrical and architectural plans and translate them for electrical installers</li><li>Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions (hot and cold), repeatedly lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and use standard hand tools.</li><li>Ability to follow verbal and auditory instructions during on-site work; must be able to meet all physical job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>Solar installation experience is preferred but not required.</li><li>Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) is required.</li><li>Ability to comprehend and execute the installation of electrical service equipment, including transformers, meter banks, and fuse switches.</li><li>Be skilled in critical path analysis for project planning and execution.</li><li>Capable of designing and explaining a fall rescue plan.</li><li>Ability to specify and implement a fall protection system.</li><li>Familiarity with cost-benefit analysis for project efficiency.</li><li>Proven ability to retain personnel on the crew.</li><li>Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with project managers, clients, other trades, and Sunkeeper installers.</li><li>Must maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.</li></ul><div>Compensation/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience, though we anticipate a range of $38–$45 / hour.Benefits:<ul><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Schedule:<ul><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Monday to Friday</li></ul></div> </div>
