Site Maintenance Manager – Airport Operations

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Site Maintenance Manager to lead our airport maintenance operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who can motivate teams, build a safety culture, streamline operations, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including customers, airlines, TSA, and airport authorities. 

YOUR IMPACT

  

Operational Leadership 

  • Manage the maintenance operation of baggage handling systems (BHS) and/or passenger boarding bridges (PBB).
  • Oversee the monthly preventive/predictive maintenance (PM) schedules, ensuring 100% compliance and timely
    execution of all maintenance activities.
  • Lead daily coordination with airport operations, station managers, and airport leadership to proactively
    address operational needs and resolve issues.
  • Manage operational budgets, optimize resource allocation, and control costs while maintaining high service quality.
  • Establish a customer-centric approach to the site with fast response times and a sense of urgency regarding customer concerns and requests. 
  • Oversee daily site operations to ensure peak performance, resource optimization, and compliance with safety and operational standards. 
  • Manage workforce scheduling, work orders, and cross-functional team coordination to maximize productivity. 
  • Lead incident response and emergency protocols to maintain uninterrupted service. 

  

Safety & Compliance Champion 

  • Champion a culture of safety, ensuring safety is the highest priority and the Oshkosh people first culture thrives at the site. 
  • Promote a safe workplace through regular training, inspections, and strict adherence to airport, OSHA, and internal standards. 
  • Ensure compliance with all operational, environmental, and regulatory guidelines. 

Team Development & Engagement 

  • Partner with human resources and site admin to implement HR strategies that align with business goals, including hiring, retention, and workforce planning. 
  • Mentor and train team members through on-the-job guidance, performance feedback, and continuous development opportunities. 
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Drive the Oshkosh people-first culture, emphasizing employee engagement and development at the site. 

For sites with supervisors and/or assistant managers: 

  • Build leadership capabilities: Provide coaching and identify leadership development opportunities for members of the team. 
  • Effectively develop supervisors and assistant managers to build succession plans for future site management opportunities. 

Process Improvement & Administration 

  • Evaluate, design, and implement operational procedures that enhance efficiency and service delivery. 
  • Supervise administrative responsibilities including HR coordination, contract compliance, invoicing, and reporting. 
  • Act as primary liaison for communication with stakeholders including airlines, TSA, and airport authorities. 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiencies. 

Availability & Flexibility 

  • Provide on-call support 24/7 and work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate. 
  • Participate in scheduled and ad-hoc meetings, training sessions, airport tours, and audits. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma / GED with equivalent experience 
  • Valid Driver’s License required. 
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain TSA and airport security clearance. 
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within an airport environment. 
  • Experience working with customers and providing best in class customer experience. 
  • Business acumen with P&L management experience. 
  • Proven leadership, team-building capabilities, and experience building a strong safety culture 

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience managing maintenance for conveyor system operations or for baggage handling systems.
  • Previous experience working within an airport environment or industry.

  • Work setting includes both office and field environments, often around aircraft and ground support equipment.

Pay Range:

$82,000.00 - $132,800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
