Senior Hardware Product Manager, New Product Introduction

The company is backed by a diverse set of committed investors and we have raised over $360M to date.Role DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced hardware product manager to facilitate the introduction of our iron-air multi-day storage technology into new markets, starting with the EU. You will collaborate closely with our policy, business development & analytics, and commercial teams to quantify the market opportunity for multi-day storage in new markets. You will work with our product and program teams to define unique product requirements to enter these markets, including codes and standards. In partnership with our program management team, you will drive our first ‘stage gate’ release process to align the company to launch in new markets. In addition, you will support market adoption of our new technology within the U.S., including working with permitting agencies to drive understanding of our technology, and provide feedback to our products team to inform our product compliance roadmap. The ideal candidate brings experience in launching new battery storage technologies, and is an outstanding partner to both external customer and internal product stakeholders. In this role, you will drive the global expansion of our product to accelerate deep decarbonization of grids worldwide.

What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with our policy, business development & analytics, and product teams to define the market and product requirements to enter new markets, starting with the UK and Ireland
• Work with new market customers, grid operators, and policymakers to educate them on our unique product capabilities and to inform our global product roadmap
• Define codes/standards and compliance roadmap needed to enter new markets, with an initial focus on the UK and Ireland
• Collaborate with our program management, finance, and supply chain teams to drive our first stage gate process to define the market, product requirements, and timing of launch in new markets
• Work with U.S. permitting agencies and authority having jurisdictions to educate them on our new technology and understand hard and soft compliance requirements to facilitate market adoption
• Collaborate with our systems and product teams to include customer and market feedback to inform our product compliance roadmap

What You'll Bring:

• Engineering bachelor’s degree + 7 years experience or master’s degree with 3 years experience in hardware product management
• Solid understanding of battery energy storage product design and compliance requirements; understanding of product compliance requirements in the EU ideal
• Demonstrated track record of bringing new utility-scale hardware products to market
• Direct experience working with permitting agencies to communicate product capabilities and understand unique requirements
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills: able to crisply communicate product capabilities to technical customers or permitting authorities and to internal stakeholders
• Superior team collaborator; thrives in engaging stakeholders across the organization, from business development to engineering and customers
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced, high-tech, high-profile start-up where decisions and progress must be made with imperfect information
• Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated track record of leading new initiatives with limited resources
