Tether is building AI that learns the behavior of millions of private Electric Vehicles to coordinate their charging patterns, turning these cars into the world's largest - and cleanest - distributed battery that helps to reinforce the power grid.

Your Mission

We’re seeking a Data Scientist to analyze and extract insights from energy and EV charging data, supporting grid optimization and predictive modeling. This role involves data cleaning, EDA, and machine learning model development, with a focus on time series forecasting and pattern recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build data cleaning pipelines for EV charging events, weather and energy markets data.

• Conduct EDA to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in energy consumption and grid data.

• Develop ML models, with special focus on time-series forecasting and pattern recognition methodologies.

• Extract actionable insights to improve EV charging strategies, grid flexibility, and energy efficiency.

• Define evaluation metrics for the models and monitor them.

• Collaborate with back-end engineers to optimize data processing pipelines and model deployment.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning.

• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.).

• Strong understanding of data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques.

• Experience in building and evaluating machine learning models, especially time-series models (ARIMA, Prophet, LSTMs, etc.) and pattern recognition techniques.

• Ability to communicate insights effectively through reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the electric power system, EV charging infrastructure, and energy markets.

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Experience with SQL for querying and managing large datasets.

• Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.

• Experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Dask) and real-time data streaming (Kafka, MQTT).

• Understanding of optimization techniques for energy systems.
