Job Description

Climate Robotics seeks a SolidWorks Drafter to produce or revise fabrication drawings using SolidWorks. Mechanical and electrical machine design knowledge is required. You will be helping us to design the next generation of agricultural machinery, which allows farmers to improve their soil while sequestering atmospheric carbon.

The right candidate is detail oriented, has excellent analytical and problem solving skills, hands-on ability to get the job done, and the ability to work and communicate well with a variety of professionals in a collaborative atmosphere.

We are seeking candidates located in the Houston, TX area. Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Translate design sketches/drawings into shop drawings for sheet metal fabrication
  • Structural drafting
  • Interprets complex assemblies and generates individual component manufacturing drawings
  • Generates complete bill of materials in SolidWorks
  • Checks generated drawings and bills of materials against design calculation, sketches/drawings and applicable codes
  • Ensures drawings are done to specifications (per code and specifications) and company format (drawings properly labeled and dimensioned)
  • Performs layouts as needed to verify dimensions
  • Calculates dimensions of parts and materials
  • Performs quality inspections on all drawings
  • Prepares requisition forms for purchasing
  • Maintains SolidWorks library
  • Manages bill of materials in database

Requirements

  • Experience with shop drawings for sheetmetal fabrication
  • Experience with structural drafting
  • Electrical Hardware / Wiring Design (Enclosures) with knowledge of electrical circuits
  • Experience with SolidWorks - preference for those with certification
  • Mechanical Design (Piping, Machines, Construction)
  • Interest in new trends of electrical and industrial process equipment design/build
  • 2 year college or 4 year university or adequate proof of related work experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
