The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia. About the Position:The Principal Commissioning Engineer provides technical support to the testing and commissioning activities of a multi-disciplined digital railway system project and coordinates the associated railway systems integration.Key tasks and responsibilities:<ul><li>Supporting the program T&amp;C manager by leading T&amp;C activities for multiple work packages.</li><li>Inter-Alliance stakeholder management</li><li>Working with work package signalling Tester in Charge and commissioning engineers to plan and execute T&amp;C works.</li><li>Responsible for schedule management of work package.</li><li>Ensure that the test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project.</li><li>Oversight of the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all Test documentation.</li><li>Technical review of all test documentation to ensure test coverage is robust and comprehensive.</li><li>Ensuring the timely production of all Sub-System and System Test Plans, Procedures and Reports at the work package level.</li><li>Supporting site interface management with the Client/Engineers/Third parties during the test and commissioning planning and execution phase.</li><li>Support bids and develop strategy for future work packages.</li><li>Ensure test documentation complies with relevant standards</li><li>Ensure test specifications and procedures align with project requirements</li></ul>Skills and experience:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field.<ul><li>IRSE Tester in Charge License</li><li>Or pre-existing Queensland Rail role</li></ul></li><li>10+ years' experience in a similar role in the Rail Signal industry with demonstrated capability and skills in:<ul><li>System Integration of complex systems</li><li>Understanding how testing plays a role in supporting Systems Assurance activities</li><li>Railway equipment and environment</li><li>Use of Test tools</li><li>Use of Database tools</li><li>Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools</li><li>Experience leading a team/function along with well-honed stakeholder management skills</li></ul></li></ul>At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
