Job Summary

The Director of Investor Relations is responsible for developing and executing the Company’s global investor relations program in collaboration with the CFO and the company as a whole. The primary objective of the Investor Relations program is to help educate and consistently update investors and external sell-side analysts on the Company’s financial and operational results to achieve a fair stock valuation to create long-term shareholder value.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a effective first line voice of the Company to the investment community, accomplished through a structured investor marketing program that includes regular meetings / conference calls with investors and analysts; website content and other electronic means; and telephone and personal contacts with institutional investors and equity analysts
  • Develop and gather a messaging strategy that accurately reflects the Company’s business performance and highlights opportunities for growth and value creation
  • Gather intelligence and information in the marketplace to inform and educate senior leadership regarding the near and long-term dynamics of the investment community; provide insight on the potential impact of market forces on the Company’s share price movement and shareholder register
  • Liaise and collaborate with various functions within the company to prepare for quarterly earnings reports to accurately communicate financial performance and other significant events taking place within the Company, as well as assist in preparation of the company’s annual report, proxy filings and annual shareholder meetings
  • Assist and advise management on how to effectively communicate the potential impact of business initiatives and developments to the market and shareholders
  • Develop and execute on a strategy to attract the best fit long term mission-aligned investor base possible for Bird
  • Project manage all of the above to ensure timeliness and accuracy of delivery

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required, master degree(s) preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience in relevant industries (investor relations, research/sell-side analysis, finance, etc)
  • Familiar with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors
  • Strong understanding of SEC Regulations and securities disclosure requirements, as well as filing requirements
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills skills
  • Proficiency in written communication, with an emphasis on financial communications
  • Confidence and presence (with both internal and external audiences)
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and an adaptive mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience writing earnings press releases, preparing investor presentations, or writing earnings call scripts
  • Previous experience using investment platforms such as Factset / Thomson One / Bloomberg and working with third party surveillance / market intelligence providers
