The Birmingham Branch Manager will provide leadership while executing technical and administrative responsibilities for a small engineering consulting office such as day to day operations, P/L management, people management, and client relationships. You have the opportunity to improve your local community and grow your career through impactful engineering projects with UES.</span></div><div><br></div><br><br><h3>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Projects a positive image of the Company and colleagues at client negotiations, conferences, technical meetings, and within the office</li><li>Signs letters, proposals, and reports bearing professional stamp (if applicable) and assumes responsibility in the name of the Company</li><li>Responsible for work assigned to the Branch regarding professional liability and contractual obligations.  All technical work must be conducted so that the standard of care is met</li><li>Provides guidance, training, and instruction to subordinates in regulatory, technical, and administrative aspects of environmental, geotechnical, or construction materials testing consulting</li><li>Responsible for project financials, proposals, and resource allocation/utilization</li><li>Leads people management, career development, and overall office culture in accordance with UES vision. </li><li>Directs the execution of business development efforts, Pursue new business opportunities through networking, proposals, and client relationships. Plans Branch strategy in conjunction with Group Managers to meet Company goals</li><li>Manage branch budgets, forecasts, hiring, and staff development.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li><b>Minimum Requirements:</b></li><li>Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree required. </li><li>8+ years of experience in consulting engineering roles involving Geotechnical or CMT projects</li><li>Professional Engineering License required or can be obtained within 6 months</li><li><br></li><li><b>Preferred Experience:</b></li><li>Must have thorough knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering or Materials Testing services consulting business</li><li>Consulting Engineering business acumen including P/L responsibilities</li><li>Active membership in professional and civic organizations</li><li><br></li><div>PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must reside within commutable distance of our company location.
