This position will be part of Air Products' Americas Operations Central Engineering - HyCO Process Controls team. Travel is mostly local within the Houston region, but infrequent travel may be required to other Air Products locations in North America; the incumbent should expect to travel ~ 10% of the time outside the region. The individual will work closely with regional process controls engineers, plant process engineers, area managers, site supervisors and operating staff. Responsibilities:The primary responsibility for this role is to provide process control systems engineering support for our world-class fleet of HyCO production facilities in the Houston region.  Required Skills / Abilities:<ul><li>Supports control system troubleshooting and root cause analysis.</li><li>Identifies, executes, and supports improvement projects related to DCS &amp; SIS systems.</li><li>Responsible for the long-term planning and support of control systems with respect to programming, preventive maintenance, and migration.</li><li>Addresses instrumentation and automation system obsolescence.</li><li>Implements changes to the control logic, HMI, database, and prepares documentation of these changes. </li><li>Aligns with local I&amp;E technicians, providing support and leadership for instrument related troubleshooting. </li><li>Contributes to the improvement and optimization of existing assets.</li><li>Drives improvements in plant reliability, cyber security, and cost reduction initiatives.</li><li>Meets organizational goals for safety.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering.</li></ul>OR<ul><li>Bachelor of Science degree in Process Technology with 8+ years of experience in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering.</li></ul>OR<ul><li>Associate degree or equivalent military training with 12+ years of controls systems and/or instrumentation experience.</li><li>Valid Drivers' License and good driving record required.</li><li>Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship (e.g. temporary work visa or work permit).</li></ul>Desired Skills:<ul><li>Hands-on knowledge of control systems (DCS/PLC). Experience with Siemens PCS7 a plus.</li><li>Some knowledge of field instrumentation, including valves and transmitters.</li><li>Proficiency and experience with concepts related to level, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement.</li><li>Fundamental understanding of computer networks.</li><li>General knowledge of cybersecurity implementation as relates to industrial control systems.</li><li>General knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems as applicable to Mechanical Integrity.</li><li>Be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
