About The Role:

Come and help us build an internal system that will provide other Planet teams with the tools they need to help Planet grow.

In this role you will provide software, services and dashboards for internal Planet customers. From customer service, to business intelligence to other software engineering teams, the system you will build and maintain will be the glue that helps bind the different aspects of Planet together, helping the business to push to the next level.

This is a brand new team at Planet, so you’ll have a great opportunity to influence and shape the team from the ground up.

Impact You'll Own:

• Build internal tools that help other departments to work more efficiently and effectively
• Design and develop dashboards using Google Cloud Platform BigQuery, DataStudio and other Planet systems to provide up-to-date information where it is needed
• Write well documented, tested, scalable and maintainable code for production services.

What You Bring:

• A positive, can-do attitude to work
• Adaptability and openness to changes and challenges
• An ability to communicate and challenge the ideas of your peers in a respectful, open manner
• Good development skills in Python and/ or Golang
• Advanced front-end development knowledge, using modern frameworks such as React
• Experience using kubectl, Docker and docker-compose

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Experience in
  • Data visualization
  • Configuring Gitlab runners
  • Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery and DataStudio
  • Managing a kubernetes cluster
  • Deep knowledge of PostGIS
  • Agile software development methods
  • Microservice architectures
• Knowledge of
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Geospatial data and algorithm domains
  • Web development standards like MVC, MVT
