The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, proficient programmer with excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with investment professionals. This individual will work closely with colleagues to build foundational infrastructure, owning the full software development lifecycle and delivering high-quality solutions with an eye for straight through processing and data management. The candidate must have a proven ability to adapt quickly, embrace new technologies, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.  Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Serve as a key member of the Investment Engineering team, responsible for the full lifecycle of development tasks, including analyzing, designing, coding, and implementing business-related solutions and core architectural changes.</li><li>Apply an Agile programming approach to deliver software within tight deadlines.</li><li>Provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, design, development, code reviews, quality assurance, observability, and product support.</li><li>Actively participate in design discussions, contribute to code reviews, and provide technical guidance to the team.</li><li>Navigate changing priorities with agility and maintain a forward-thinking mindset when context switching.</li><li>Build strong relationships with team members, fostering collaboration and effective communication to achieve successful outcomes.</li><li>Use advanced problem-solving skills to assist peers in researching and selecting tools, frameworks, and products critical to supporting business initiatives.</li><li>Manage data governance and data quality standard processes.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM field.</li><li>A minimum of 8+ years of hands-on development experience, proficient in both scripting languages (e.g., Python) and object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, C++).</li><li>Capital Markets/Investment Banking Technology expertise, with experience supporting or developing solutions for secondaries business.</li><li>Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with experience building and deploying scalable solutions leveraging microservices architecture.</li><li>Strong proficiency in database technologies, including relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL/NewSQL) databases, with the ability to optimize queries, write stored procedures, and manage data warehousing solutions.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to build, deploy, and maintain high-throughput systems, with experience in messaging technologies like Kafka.</li><li>Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and version control systems such as Git.</li><li>A passion for clean, maintainable code, and a track record of delivering robust full-stack cloud-based applications.</li><li>Experience working in an Agile development environment and familiarity with tools like GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.</li><li>Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java, and .NET.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of database technologies and data management.</li><li>Expertise in cloud platforms and DevOps practices for scalable application development.</li><li>Skilled in translating complex business logic into optimized queries and workflows.</li></ul>Leadership Skills<ul><li>Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience inspiring and motivating diverse teams.</li><li>Proven project management skills with a solid understanding of Agile methodologies.</li><li>Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex challenges.</li><li>Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, and encouraging professional growth and development</li></ul>Communication Skills<ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships and collaborating effectively across teams.</li></ul>Additional Skills<ul><li>Experience with CRM systems and pipeline tools.</li><li>Capital Markets/Investment Banking Technology expertise, with experience supporting or developing solutions for the secondaries business.</li><li>Familiarity with investment products and derivatives across Apollo business lines or a similar asset manager.</li><li>Proficiency in data manipulation using Azure Data Services, SQL, and APIs is a plus.</li></ul>ABOUT APOLLOApollo is a high-growth, global alternative asset manager.
