Elemental is seeking a passionate self-starter to join our team as New Initiatives Manager. In this role, you will evaluate and project manage new opportunities and initiatives for Elemental. We are a growing organization, within a growing field, which lends itself to many new programs and projects to consider pursuing. We’re looking for someone who is great at spotting opportunities and developing partnerships, thrives in building new things, is an excellent collaborator, and is creative and open to feedback and iteration. Past examples of new initiatives that have since grown into fully functioning programs are our Equity & Access work, Earthshot Ventures, and the Policy Lab. This is a dynamic and flexible role within the organization that will ultimately be expected to transition ideas to results that are aligned with our values and mission.


This position will report to the Chief Growth Officer.

Key Responsibilities Include:                         

  • Sourcing values aligned ideas and opportunities internally and externally
  • Project managing and researching new initiatives from ideas to results, and sometimes guiding team members as they do the same
  • Aligning with the organization’s growth plans and goals
  • Developing custom or creative partnership models as needed
  • Collaborating effectively across the team, e.g., with our Corporate Partnerships, Equity & Access, and Portfolio teams, to ensure alignment with existing programs

Qualifications                        

Minimum Qualifications:                              

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working in innovation, program/project management, and with least one relevant field related to climate, venture capital or early stage company support, or social equity
  • Strategic problem solver & conscientious leader who can execute sophisticated programs while creating deep trust with partners
  • Project and contract management experience
  • Experience working with and/or engaging diverse stakeholders
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and thorough; ability to work with deadlines and consistently follow through to completion of assigned projects
  • Creative and proactive in solving problems

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                     

  • Substantial experience in a high growth environment, specifically in prototyping, piloting, and evaluating new programs or equivalent
  • Experience raising funds
  • Experience collaborating closely with boards of directors
  • Experience leading a program or organization in a related field
  • Experience with data management and analytics
  • Success with convening / leading events and conversations

Other Details:                                                                                   

We will consider candidates located in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi or the Bay Area, California. Elemental has a hybrid working model, but will be expected to be available remotely during HQ working hours, and when in-person work resumes be able to commute to one of our HQ locations: Honolulu, Hawaiʻi or East Palo Alto, California.

Compensation & Benefits

Elemental Excelerator offers a competitive salary based on the organization’s compensation philosophy, which is grounded in market data. We also offer comprehensive health & welfare benefits and top of the market paid time off. This is a full-time "at-will" position working 40 hours per week.
