Sr. Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• NIO is currently seeking a Software Engineer position to join our small but fast-growing team. You will be working as part of application development team.
• Work closely with Product Managers, architecture, designers, Dev Ops and Information security engineering teams across regions.
• Work in a global team environment to develop an enterprise class web application working with teams in China.
• You must be a problem solver, a fast learner, comfortable wearing many hats, improving team working processes, code quality, tool, and technology adoption.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher studies in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) having solid and hands on experience with scripting and web technology.
• Solid experience in building web applications using React/VueJS/NextJs/Node.js and Express
• Solid experience in building/integrating to web services and fundamental web technologies (HTTP, REST, AJAX, JSON)
• Experience using mobile first design to build responsive applications across a variety of browsers and devices using modern CSS3 techniques
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript / ES6, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Excellent mastery of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and SEO.
• Experience with SDLC using Git (hub/labs), forks, pull requests and understanding branching/merging.
• Experience with database programming either MySQL or MongoDB.
• Excellent team, interpersonal skills written and verbal Mandarin/English skills.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and familiarity with modern Agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development and working knowledge of JIRA/Confluence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the automotive industry is preferred, but not required•          Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document, communicate findings, and interact with business customers.
• Available outside of normal US business hours for high priority events and collaboration with global team as needed.
• Having fluency in written and spoken Mandarin language is a plus
