Operations Manager, Life Cycle Assessments (Remote)

Job Overview

The EPD Operations Manager, Life Cycle Services, is responsible for ensuring the successful operation of the EPD and life cycle programs. Areas of responsibility include program operations and program quality. The position reports to the Technical Director of Environmental Certification Services.

Roles and Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Oversight of program P&L statement
• Support program through preparation of work orders and invoices.

Operations Management

• Project management, including customer relations and client meetings
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients
• Implement and enforce workflow processes to streamline operations
• Develop and document procedures to ensure efficient program operations
• Develop work instructions, internal guidance and staff training material

Program Quality

• Ensure program compliance with corporate quality system and accreditation through external organizations
• Ensure consistent interpretation and application of standards
• Manage the internal audit process
• Oversee investigation of complaints involving accreditation body
• Adhere to and enforce all quality and code of conduct standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• 4+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting, certification, or life cycle assessment
• Proven ability to write articles and give public presentations on technical subjects
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently
• Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel and database management
• Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
• Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment
• 1 – 2 years of experience conducting LCAs or applying life cycle assessment principles
• Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered, unless precluded by local and national jurisdiction. Pursuant to local and national law--proof of vaccination required. Medical and religious accommodations will also be considered.

Additional Preferred Skills

• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• 2+ years of P&L experience with a budget of at least $500k

This is an office based job.  Sit 6+ hours per day.  Keyboarding 6+ hours per day.  Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone.
