NotCo is a global company with offices & product sales in Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and the US; our latest $235m funding round will fuel our further growth in North America.

 

We are currently looking for a Pilot & Labs Manager of R&D (BU: External Services)

Pilot & Labs Manager of R&D will be reporting to the VP of R&D (BU: External Services). This position is primarily located in the San Francisco area.

 

Specifically, they will:

  • be the subject matter expert for all pilot and labs tests with 3rdparty partners.
  • work side by side with Chefs, Food Scientists and Product Developers in order to drive the top line, the efficiencies as well as uniquity of all products for NotCo BU.
  • Organize all Pilot and Labs activities in the daily basis as well as yearly planning.
  • Be accountable for the Pilot and Labs facilities: Authorization to operate, Maintenance, Team trainings and People Safety.
  • be responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining talent for the R&D Pilot and Labs Team
  • Bring product development expertise through his / her own experience as well as from suppliers, to ensure successful industrialization and launches that meet the requirements of the project brief.

 

Key Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of progressive R&D experience in Pilot Plants for plant-based food products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food engineering, food science or a similar discipline.
  • experience in working with Pilot and Labs vendors and co-manufacturers.
  • possess experience working in a consumer food company, start up experience preferred
  • excel in a startup environment and is excited to create new procedures and processes from scratch, and has a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
  • be a problem solver, have a general manager mindset, and take the initiative to get the job done
  • possess strong planning, project management, and execution skills, and the ability to articulate where and how you have used them
  • rigorous data driven/analytical capability and ability and presence to present data effectively to a leadership team
  • demonstrated leadership ability + work well in teams and cross functional groups in a matrixed environment both regionally and globally
  • be agile, adaptable, and thrive in a dynamic and changing culture
  • possess strong computer skills including a high level of proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • ability to travel at least 15% of the time

 

Authorization to work in the US required.
