The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.</div></div><div><div><div><div>Main Tasks &amp; Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):</div></div></div></div>As Sr. Projects Buyer, the candidate will achieve procurement targets with reference to the assigned project specific procurement needs (Direct and indirect) categories (i.e. goods or services with high differentiation across different markets (i.e. geographical) and their supply base. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Ensure the formalizing of local procurement agreements/contracts in compliance with procurement delegated powers. Review and revise contract terms and conditions for any conflicts with suppliers (eg. Payment terms, Variation, escalation, claims) in collaboration with global commodity procurement teams, if needed.</li><li>Candidates must have experience in negotiating and managing sub-contracts for complex sub-systems (built to specification) and maintaining total cost of ownership.</li><li>Maintain Contracts data (from Initial negotiation to termination) in Contract management tool (Jaggaer/ETQ) and commercial conditions of the contracts in SAP.</li><li>Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier contracts and procurement activities.</li><li>Ensure the implementation of RFI/ RFP / RFQ process &amp; projections to support bid preparations for relevant local procurement.</li><li>Ensure that suppliers adhere to contractual terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs).</li><li>Initiate supplier claim process for the non-performance of suppliers against  contractual terms and conditions.</li><li>Ensure Procurement Risk Monitoring &amp; Control for the assigned local procurement activities</li><li>Monitoring and reporting of economic and financial figures (budgeted v/s actual savings ) for each assigned projects/commodity.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>3-5 years of procurement experience in manufacturing industry.</li><li>Excellent communications skills, including the ability to provide data in a concise and appropriate detail</li><li>IT Tools (Ms Office including advanced level excel skills, SAP, E-Auctions,…)</li><li>Strong cost &amp; Commercial Acumen</li><li>Drafting contract agreements and negotiation</li><li>Knowledge of Statutory Policies and Organizational Processes</li><li>Travel required :  None</li></ul>Preferred qualification<ul><li>Candidates must have experience in negotiating and managing sub-contracts for complex sub-systems (built to specification) and maintaining total cost of ownership.</li><li>Relevant experience in Transit railway industry</li><li>Experience with procurement of Metallic/Mechanical components.</li><li>Exposure to Contract law.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>University Degree (Engineering, Economics, Law) or Equivalent Technical Background</li></ul>Benefits:  Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short &amp; Long Term Disability, Life &amp; Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
