We are seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategy Senior Director to play a crucial role in Imperfect’s growth and success. The Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategy Senior Director will ensure strategic development of our financial plan (outputs) and operational plan (inputs) to support our business growth. He/she will be a strategic advisor to the CFO, CEO, and COO, and responsible for performing enterprise-level planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis that supports major corporate decisions. The ideal candidate is a player-coach and ready to put their experience to work and excited to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the Company's full Financial Model to be used to raise capital and utilize as the basis of the Annual Budget; this includes I/S, B/S & CF's
  • Coordinate the Annual Budget process including developing Dept templates and rollup scenarios
  • Oversee the preparation and reporting of weekly/monthly/quarterly budget vs. actual variance analysis, providing commentary when needed to inform outcomes and assumptions
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of Board materials
  • Create an efficient, effective, and comprehensive process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to strategic objectives
  • Track and evaluate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and benchmarks
  • Drive alignment and consistency with all teams 
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis, build strategic models, and develop fact-based recommendations to help senior leadership make informed business decisions
  • Promote the use of systems, procedures, and controls that result in improved productivity and financial discipline
  • Serve as an integral member of the monthly financial close process
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of the corporate forecasting tools and integration with our existing reporting system
  • Lead the effort to develop one source of truth in our data and reporting (financial and operational) across the company
  • Understand needs and provide tools and processes they can leverage.
  • Create and maintain consistent budget tracking systems for each team
  • Support any ad hoc financial analysis, modeling, and analytical support

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, MBA, CFA or CPA is a plus
  • 10+ years finance, investment banking, or consulting experience
  • E-Commerce and/or retail experience in a fast-paced category a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Netsuite

Details of Position:

  • Full-time, exempt position reporting to the CFO 
  • Position is fully remote and any location will be considered, but preference will be given to those located in Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore/Washington, DC, Portland, OR, San Francisco, or San Antonio where we have company locations
  • Salary and stock options commensurate with experience
