Job Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager for a leading role on the accounting team. The position is responsible for driving monthly accounting processes including period close, administering processes and procedures, and managing AP/AR. This position will provide significant opportunity for professional development, including technical challenges and international exposure. The successful candidate will have experience working for an early-stage company with previous responsibility for financial reporting, including extensive knowledge of GAAP, regulatory accounting and reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant will have 7-10 years relevant experience; Big 4 public accounting experience and a CPA are required. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related business field is required. The role will also be responsible for supporting the ongoing review and testing of Internal Control Structure to ensure the Company’s internal control over financial reporting is effective for each period reports are filed, and to provide timely, accurate and consistent preparation of financial statements and reports required by the company, its external auditors, with the SEC and other regulatory authorities. This individual will work with the CFO to develop and execute on an annual compliance plan and work closely with the company’s process owners and external auditors to complete necessary review, testing and evaluation of internal controls.

Key Qualifications

  • CPA qualification
  • 4+ years of public accounting experience
  • Customer responsiveness and providing friendly and efficient service to our internal and external customers and partners
  • Multinational Company and/or international experience a plus
  • Project accounting a major plus
  • High attention to detail, works accurately and quickly and has strong organizational skills
  • Collaborative, results driven team player with the ability to influence others
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines including ability to manage multiple tasks to completion at the same time
  • Experience with US GAAP, with revenue recognition under ASC 606, ASC 842, and R&D capitalization
  • SOX/Internal Controls documentation is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the ownership of the general ledger and the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries and supporting work papers for key balance sheet and expense accounts
  • Create and maintain accounting schedules and roll-forwards for fixed assets, prepaids and accruals, record associated monthly adjusting journal entries, and report on results when necessary
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reporting in cash management and forecasts, costs, and expenses
  • Support annual internal and external financial and international statutory audits, including the preparation of audit schedules, financial statements and footnotes
  • Play a key role in general process improvements and process documentation for all facets of the accounting cycle
  • Support management team with ad hoc requests

Minimum Qualifications

  • A passion for helping heal our planet and providing customer satisfaction
  • BS/BA in accounting is required, Masters a plus
  • 4+ years of Big 4 experience preferred
  • Min two years of industry experience with financial statement compilation and consolidation
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced with Google Suite skills 
  • Team oriented with a positive attitude
  • Self motivated to develop, be challenged, and learn in a fast paced environment
