Carbon Accounting Tool Developer
Job Description
Sustain.Life is looking for a talented solutions creator in the sustainability space with a focus on building tools for greenhouse gas emissions accounting and management. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of GHG Protocol accounting methods across most or all emissions categories, as well as emissions screening and modeling/simulation experience. The analyst role will develop emissions calculation, data management and related tools for our software application to facilitate audit-ready emission inventories. This role reports to our Associate Director of Sustainability and works closely with our software engineers and product team.
Desired Qualifications for this Role
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant environmental or data field, advanced degree preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required and knowledge of basic JSON data structures is preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience performing, auditing or building calculation tools for inventories of scopes 1, 2, and 3 for businesses.
- Experience with complex/global supply chains from various sectors preferred.
- Experience with scope 3 value chain assessment techniques, methods and factor sets.
- Strong preference for prior experience developing product and process lifecycle assessments.
- Proficiency in LCA software and familiarity with datasets to build product evaluation tools.
- Prior experience with developing or implementing sustainability management platforms.
- Data simulation or modeling background preferred, especially as it relates to ESG data
