About the Role

This position will lead various categories of indirect sourcing activities including software acquisition, global service contracts, operational supplies and corporate procurement. You will work closely with internal partners across the organization and external vendors. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the company is making strategic and sound purchasing decisions while maintaining accountability for year-over-year budget performance and expense reduction for contracts you lead all aspects of.

Ideal candidates will ultimately balance vendor management responsibilities, while also delivering against key performance metrics. The candidate must work optimally within cross-functional teams in finance, IT, operations, product, engineering, business and legal. The successful candidate must be effective at working in a fast-paced and agile environment as well as confident and collaborative in their interactions with business partners. Critical to this role is the ability to build and manage relationships at all levels, with both internal and external partners. This position reports directly to the Director of Procurement at Spin.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal teams to assess corporate purchase needs and build a strategic plan for execution to ensure mitigation of financial exposure to Spin
  • Lead supplier identification and contract negotiations with vendors to develop mutually beneficial agreements on all business related terms including but not limited to cost, quality, delivery, service and risk
  • Consolidate specifications and business requirements to develop competitive sourcing events
  • Form relationships with key vendors and cultivate these partnerships for Spin globally
  • Deliver cost savings on material contracts spanning from purchasing software, supplies to technology services and contract outsourcing
  • Ensure expedient implementation of new contracts following company policy throughout the organization
  • Build global sourcing programs for various components (software, supplies, van leases, facilities rental, labor and services outsourcing)
  • Lead RFP processes and build methods of assessing the best suppliers both on qualitative and quantitative metrics, understanding financial imperatives and long term value to Spin
  • Partner strategically with Ford to leverage economies of scale and vendor relationships at Spin
  • Support the PR/PO and vendor creation/approval process and drive process improvements
  • Expand our supplier business globally/internationally (focus on NA, Europe and Asia)
  • Have an attitude for continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply chain or related field
  • 5+ years of procurement or similar purchasing experience
  • 3+ years negotiating indirect vendor contracts and assessing new opportunities
  • Demonstrated cost savings on contracts you led the negotiation for
  • Experience in successfully using cost analysis tools to guide negotiation needs and strategize creative solutions to deliver value on contracts
  • Self-starter and track record of driving the success of the procurement organization
  • Strategic understanding vendor relationships and demonstrated ability to cultivate them
  • Global and International sourcing experience is a strong plus
