About the role

Spin Product Managers lead the definition and the roadmap for our products, be it software or hardware, in strong partnership with our engineering, business and operations teams. Spin has ambitious goals to create a multi-modal fleet with innovative vehicles that our riders love. We are looking for a strategic Technical Product Manager to organize new hardware introductions by collaborating with Business, Product, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and QA teams. This role will report into our Head of Operations Product Management.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Becoming an expert on the requirements for integrating new hardware into our shared mobility fleet
  • Leading the integration process and relentlessly improving upon our playbook for hardware onboarding
  • Driving hardware integration initiatives through all phases including concept, pilot, and scaled optimization.
  • Defining integration requirements by collaborating with partners and backend engineering teams
  • Defining success criteria for operationalizing new vehicle models or entirely new vehicle platforms
  • Providing regular updates to leadership on the overall status of hardware integration programs
  • Supporting other Product Managers by helping them take advantage of the available hardware features and making sure our shared mobility fleet is operating reliably

 

Who We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the technical product management role
  • Minimum of 2 years working on consumer hardware products or equivalent
  • Broad familiarity with firmware, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and mobile app development
  • Knowledgeable about embedded systems and firmware-to-cloud communication protocols
  • Extensive experience working in a matrixed environment. You can methodically create clarity among a group of Product Managers and Technical Architects.
  • Technical background, including but not limited to a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Passionate about mobility and transportation.
  • Ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way.
  • Comfortable defining and analyzing metrics that showcase the success of our products, in collaboration with our Data analysts
  • Strong communication and intuition for strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users,and other audiences.
