This role requires advanced knowledge of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage development, superior communication, analytical, and presentation skills, and comfort working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.Reporting to the CDO, the successful candidate should be highly organized, responsive, thoughtful, self-directed, and committed to producing a high level of quality of work. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Aid CDO with creation and management of greenfield development strategy and execution</li><li>Assists or independently manage research, collaboration, and writing reports or PowerPoint slides regarding complex transmission, permitting, policy, project development, M&amp;A topics.</li><li>Support CDO to prepare financial analysis to enable decisions on projects and the portfolio.</li><li>Participates in budget preparation and administration, monitors and controls expenditures.</li><li>Aid CDO and team to create and manage annual KPIs and Business Plan targets.</li><li>Performs and manages complex and sensitive professional planning projects, research and analysis.</li><li>Support development of projects by evaluating project progress, viability, regulatory impact, transmission impact, financial returns, and risk assessments</li><li>Support development of projects by refining prospecting tool that provides production and LCOE models for early-stage projects</li><li>Collaborate with CDO and team to optimize projects and assumptions to improve financial returns</li><li>Support CDO and team with managing market and competitive analyses</li><li>Track project progress and stage gate process</li><li>Actively collaborate with team to create and manage development processes to enhance effectiveness and transparency of Development team members</li><li>Take part in critical development decisions that materially impact projects and business</li><li>Collaborate with team to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to influence decision making</li><li>Participate in preparation for Risk Committee and Investment Committee approvals</li><li>In partnership with the CDO, convenes and facilitates teams on priority strategies and issues.</li><li>Assist with strategic development initiatives or special projects as needed.</li><li>Organizes, leads, and helps execute company projects that may fall outside the scope of regular duties.</li></ul> REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the solar and battery energy storage industry, with knowledge of project development, transmission, financial modeling, regulatory affairs, and power market dynamics.  </li><li>Must be innovative, detail-oriented, experienced in highly visible projects.</li><li>Capable of managing multiple, high-priority assignments.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships with staff, officials and stakeholders and to resolve complaints.</li><li>Strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations.</li><li>Reading comprehension to understand technical and legal materials.</li><li>Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.</li><li>Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management.</li><li>Ability to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines.</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to manage and conduct in-person and virtual public participation activities, meetings and hearings.</li></ul>  #LI-Hybrid<div><div><div>Avantus offers competitive compensation with an excellent benefits package, including 401(k) matching; comprehensive medical and dental plan options; and flexible PTO.
