About you: At Convoy’s data platform team in the infrastructure organization, we are looking for a software engineer that will help us deliver the next generation of data platform solutions. Modern data technologies are not about databases and SQL anymore, more software engineering technologies and disciplines are applied to the data platform ecosystem. We at the data platform team are committed to setting up the data platform and providing qualitative data to the business stakeholders. Your expertise plays a key part of our data platform design and implementation which enables business stakeholders to trust the data and use the information to generate reports/analytic solutions or create machine learning models.

As an engineer at Convoy, you might:

• Architect and implement Convoy’s next-generation data platform end to end which includes data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouse, and analytics solutions with alert/monitoring and certification processes. 
• Utilize modern software technologies to provide APIs, cataloging tools, and analytical/reporting solutions that allow various business and technology consumers to find business insights, provide business predictions via machine learning and data science practices. 
• Write scalable software that helps us efficiently handle a large amount of data.
• Apply security and privacy principles and best practices to guarantee the data is the single source of truth for the business and meet the regulatory compliances.
• Build delightful and innovative analytic solutions and tools to improve user experiences.
• Work with and contribute to industry-standard open-source projects like DBT, Kafka, Amundsen, Metabase etc.

You have the following skills and experience:

• 8-10 years of data platform-related experiences such as data pipeline, data warehouse, and analytic solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of end-to-end feature development including both frontend, backend, and data engineering.
• Python, JavaScript/Typescript, Node, GraphQL, SQL, and AWS.
• Care deeply about collaborating with data stakeholders to build good quality data products.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Cultivating flexible, empathetic engineering teams.
• BS degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in mentoring both junior and senior engineers in multiple dimensions.
• Strong sense of ownership and can drive complex projects end-to-end.
• Growth mindset and is able to rapidly learn new technologies and concepts to meet the needs of our customers.
