Job Description

Resonant Link accelerates electrification by Powering Fleets While They Work, integrating our fast wireless chargers into the stops that already exist during fleet operation (think pick stations for robots or loading docks for forklifts). Our world-class team has quadrupled in less than a year to power mission-critical applications for multiple Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.

As a Magnetics Engineer, you will join Resonant Link’s world-class electromagnetics team in the design and development of electromagnetic coils for our wireless chargers. We are looking for a motivated scientist or engineer to run technical projects and work with our team on the cutting edge of the field. Your primary responsibilities will be design, construction and validation of complex passive networks and the associated electromagnetic components. You will be a key contributor to the design, manufacturing, and delivery of Resonant Link’s best-in-class wireless charging coils.

On an average day, you’ll...

  • Experimentally validate the performance of our state-of-the-art wireless chargers for the world's most demanding applications.
  • Document experimental results and analyze the main findings
  • Model the performance of wireless power transfer systems and electromagnetic components for power converters by means of analytical solutions, 2D and 3D FEM simulations.
  • Work closely with our power electronics and mechanical teams to converge on integration solutions for multiple subsystems.
  • Source and collaborate with domestic and overseas suppliers.

Requirements

  • Good physics and/or electromagnetics background (BSc/MSc in Physics or EE).
  • Preferred: previous relevant experience, i.e.:
    1. Electromagnetics simulation (2D, 3D, Maxwell, HFSS, etc.).
    2. Magnetics, RF, microwave, antenna, and/or electric machine designs.
  • Preferred: understanding of electric circuits and/or power electronic systems.
  • Must have up-to-date vaccinations for COVID-19 and use a mask while on-site (mask requirement subject to change as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves).

Who we’re looking for:

  • You have an appetite to continuously learn new things to overcome significant technical obstacles.
  • You find the experience of converting ideas into reality rewarding.
  • You are motivated by the opportunity to work at a dynamic startup company where your contributions will have an outsized impact on our products, customers, and culture.
  • You are respectful, empathetic, honest, and energetic.
  • You are willing to work on-site with regional team members, with opportunities for flexible work options, depending on candidate experience and preference.
    • On-site presence and flexible work options will be discussed more during the interview process.
    • For this team, members within the US are regionally based in Burlington, Vermont (Resonant Link Headquarters), and members within Europe are based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The team you will be joining:

The magnetics team, staffed by engineers from the world’s foremost power electronics and magnetics laboratories, operates at the critical juncture in the development of wireless chargers. We are critically reliant on our team members’ ownership, creativity, technical rigor, and collaboration to deliver on our first-of-their-kind magnetics and power electronics. Our greater engineering team includes electrical, mechanical, embedded, and magnetics engineers with PhDs from Berkeley, Dartmouth, ETH Zurich, Michigan, and Stanford and experience at Tesla, Apple, iRobot, and Harvard Medical School. You will learn from world-class experts inside and outside the organization, with technical leaders and partners engaged and accessible every week at Resonant Link.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and generous stock options.
  • Paid holidays (including a week off at new year) and an unlimited vacation policy.
  • The possibility for flexible work options and a home office stipend for fully remote employees
  • 100% health, dental, and vision coverage for employees
  • 401(k) retirement benefit
  • Generous paid parental and family leave.
  • Learning/career development investment in your professional and personal growth including hiring outside mentors, professional development courses, and more.
  • Company outings & team retreats (post-pandemic!).
