Job Description

The Chemistry team is responsible for developing and characterizing various polymers and membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for Twelve’s electrochemical CO2 reduction process. As a Junior Polymer Chemist, you will be responsible for mass production of polymers and utilizing characterization techniques to assess the performance of different materials. In this role, you will collaborate with members of other teams to maintain a constant supply of materials as well as understanding Twelve’s electrochemical application and its results. 

What You Will Do: 

  • Perform wet chemistry reactions and solution preparation and assist in the scale up of material production
  • Material quality control and characterization on various polymers
  • Data work-up and presentation to the technical team
  • Communicate status of samples to other team members 
  • Documentation of procedures and inventory management
  • Develop and update existing SOPs in the database

Who You Are: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related STEM field
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a wet lab environment
  • You are able to lift up to 50 pounds as required by scale up production
  • Basic knowledge in data processing softwares
  • Strong desire and curiosity to learn new things and enjoy being challenged
  • Able to work independently and problem solve with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Able to communicate and work cross functionally with teams and follow directions/SOPs
