VP, Solar Acquisitions

INTRODUCTION

We are looking for an Investment team Vice President to help acquire and manage our growing portfolio of PV solar assets, with an initial focus on solar, including community solar. The mission of this role is to drive renewable power asset investments that deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns. We are looking for a self-directed individual who is excited by the opportunity to work on the Investment Team on the evaluation, structuring and execution of transactions.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the VP for Solar Acquisitions:

• Develop and sustain long-lasting relationships with new and existing developer partners
• Establish and manage forward-flow agreements to maximize developer partner success and Generate Capital acquisitions
• Lead, structure, and close portfolio acquisitions of solar energy generation investments
• Captain transactions through the managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders including supporting advisors
• Run diligence and documentation processes, leading to an efficient and well-organized transaction process.
• Weigh deal risks and commercial tradeoffs to aim for a risk profile appropriate to the anticipated acquisition return profile
• Close project finance including tax equity to enhance project returns
• Identify new areas for distributed solar investment and source development partners

 

Candidate requirements and qualifications:

• A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission
• 6+ years of renewable energy development and/or M&A experience
• Experience developing, financing, or acquiring distributed solar portfolios
• Superb analytical, interpersonal, and negotiating skills
• Strong investment judgement
• Ability to operate autonomously and exceed expectations despite minimal guidance
• Entrepreneurial spirit: flexibility to do whatever it takes and ability to succeed in ambiguous situations
• Intellectual agility and curiosity
• Ability to work well in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
• Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references
