As part of the wider Octopus Energy group, Octopus Renewables sources, invests in and actively manages a range of utility scale renewable energy assets. We are looking to expand our team as we continue to scale our investments base of £3.5bn. Since entering the renewables market in 2010, Octopus Renewables has grown to become the largest investor of solar power in the UK and Europe and a leading investor in onshore wind. We currently manage an increasingly global portfolio of renewable energy assets and are looking to make our first US acquisitions shortly. Our operational portfolio includes over 250 energy generating companies, delivering revenue in excess of £250m. Having originated, invested in and managed assets in the renewable energy sector for over a decade, our energy investment and asset management team of 70 professionals is one of the largest and most experienced in Europe. The team is structured for scale and long-term ownership of energy assets. The Business Operations Manager will help build out the Octopus Renewables presence in the US, including incorporation in the USA, fund set up and play a role in individual transactions.

What you'll do

• Oversee incorporation of US entities and daily accounting operations
• Maintain policies and procedures
• Liaise with consulting groups
• Manage accounts payable, receivable and payroll
• Establish and implement internal controls
• Prepare team budgets and financial statements
• Assist with tax estimates and preparing returns
• Financial, government and tax reporting compliance
• Assist with new fund raises / fund set up as required
• Assistance with the financial and tax due diligence workstreams for new transactions

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of accounting leadership experience
• Advanced Excel
• Highly organized
• Able to plan ahead to deliver accurate information to tight reporting deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work well with different teams and manage a range of different stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and aspirational, comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environment
• People management experience preferable
